This is the perfect Valentine's Day breakfast recipe! I love adding special little themed touches like heart-shaped strawberries. It only takes a few extra seconds and my kids get such a kick out of it! This Strawberry Heart Vegan Yogurt Parfait is perfect for Valentine's Day, but if you ask me...it's also a great way to say "I love you!" any day of the year. Everyone appreciates a little pick-me-up like that from time to time!
Vegan Strawberry Parfait
This vegan strawberry parfait is the perfect treat for your special someone on Valentine's Day! I love making heart-shaped strawberries to decorate the glass and filling the inside with vegan yogurt, raspberry chia seed jam, and our favorite granola. You could also serve this bowl-style with the strawberries placed on top! No matter how you arrange it all, it's a sweet love-themed treat to make this February 14.
It also works great with a vanilla, pink or chocolate smoothie in place of the yogurt.
Ingredients in a Vegan Parfait
The best thing about parfaits (aside from how delicious they are!) is how fancy they feel despite being so easy to assemble. I stacked these parfaits with some of my very favorite ingredients, which made it an instant favorite.
- Easy Raspberry Chia Jam is one of my favorite recipes. We use it in so many ways: on toast, in Berries & Cream Popsicles, in Thumbprint Cookies, even for Homemade Vegan Pop Tarts! I love how it layers with the yogurt in these parfaits.
- Culina Coconut Yogurt is my go-to vegan yogurt. It's free of refined sugar and soy and tastes creamy and delicious. For this recipe I used the bourbon vanilla, strawberry rose, or sour cherry almond flavor. I find Culina at Whole Foods or Sprouts!
- Finally...granola. Gotta have that crunch! My Easy Granola Recipe gets made a couple times a week at my house. Everyone loves it and snacks on it constantly! You could also do Chocolate Granola, which is my mom's favorite recipe. I make it for her all the time! Chocolate granola would definitely make this parfait feel special.
- Hulled strawberries! Hulling strawberries just means that you're removing the green leaves and stems. Once they're hulled you can slice them into thin heart shapes that are absolutely adorable in the glass.
Health Benefits of Vegan Yogurt
There are TONS of vegan yogurt options on the market, and I love incorporating them into my diet! Yogurt is filled with living probiotic cultures, which are really good for your gut and stomach health. Culina yogurt, which is my preferred brand, also has agar in it. This is an ingredient made from algae that is high in fiber and minerals. Fascinating! It tastes so, so good.
Parfait Toppings
The best way to get kids excited about a kitchen project is to get toppings out! They love sampling everything and choosing their favorites. Some of our go-to yogurt parfait toppings are...
- Vegan dark chocolate chips (I love Hu Dark Chocolate Gems! You could also melt them down for a chocolate drizzle...YUM)
- Shredded coconut (unsweetened)
- Fresh raspberries or pitted cherries
- Coconut Whipped Cream
- Chopped almonds, pecans, or walnuts
- Freeze dried strawberries or raspberries for a little crunch on top

Description
Layered vegan yogurt, raspberry chia jam, and homemade granola topped with heart-shaped strawberries create the sweetest Valentine's Day Vegan Yogurt Parfait breakfast! It's an easy dish that starts the day with plenty of love. Top it with chocolate, whipped cream, or fresh fruit to really make this breakfast shine!
Ingredients
- 3 strawberries, hulled
- ¼ cup raspberry chia jam
- 1, 0.5 ounce containers vegan yogurt (I love Culina coconut yogurt in these flavors for this recipe: bourbon vanilla, strawberry rose or sour cherry almond flavor - all are soy-free, refined sugar-free and vegan)
- 3 tablespoons homemade vanilla-cinnamon granola OR homemade chocolate granola
Optional Additional Garnishes
- vegan dark chocolate chips or melted chocolate drizzle
- unsweetened shredded coconut
- coconut whipped cream
- fresh raspberries or pitted cherries
- freeze dried strawberries or raspberries
Instructions
- Thinly slice strawberries lengthwise. Trim each slice into heart shapes with a small paring knife by cutting a small upside down triangle at the top/wider side (opposite the tip). Thin slices work best for sticking to the side of a glass. Lightly wet the inside of your serving glass and stick the heart strawberries around the sides.
- Place 2 tablespoons raspberry chia jam at the bottom of the glass.
- Fill the rest of the cup with yogurt. Top with granola, 2 remaining tablespoons of the raspberry chia jam and any extra strawberry slices.
- Add any additional garnishes at this time: dark chocolate chips, coconut whipped cream, fresh raspberries or pitted cherries, crushed or whole freeze dried berries.
- Serve with a spoon immediately.
