This is the dip my entire family is obsessed with! It's a Creamy Vegan Cinnamon Vanilla Fruit Dip that totally satisfies a sweet tooth while being super healthy. You only need five ingredients and some sliced fruit to start dipping!

My whole family is completely obsessed with this Creamy Vegan Cinnamon Vanilla Fruit Dip. I love making it for holiday parties, play dates, or afternoon snack time. Fun tip: we also drizzle it over oatmeal or pancakes. Better than frosting! This fruit dip is super simple to make and it doesn't require any baking or cooking. Just soak raw cashews in hot water for 30 minutes, drain them, and puree everything in a high-speed blender with water, dates, cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. I like to serve it with freshly sliced apples or pears!

Can You Make Fruit Dip Ahead of Time?
Yes! This is a great recipe to make and have on hand. It will last in the refrigerator in a sealed container for 5-7 days. It never lasts that long in our house, so I often double the recipe so we have plenty on hand when the snacking mood strikes!
Health Benefits of Cashews
The creaminess for this Cinnamon Vanilla Fruit Dip comes from raw cashews. These offer plant-based protein and are also incredibly nutrient dense. Cashews are an excellent source of copper and a good source of magnesium, manganese, vitamin K, phosphorous and zinc.
I buy raw, unsalted cashews in the bulk section of my grocery store and store them in my refrigerator in a large mason jar that is airtight. In the refrigerator cashews can last up to six months. They can actually last up to a year if you store them in your freezer.

Do Cashews Need to Be Soaked?
It is up to you and the type of blender you own. My high-speed blender does a great job of making a creamy dip without any soaking. I’m usually in a rush so I rarely soak my nuts in advance. Some people like to soak cashews in advance to make them easier to blend and also to make them more easily digestible. I’ve also read that soaking helps make the nutrients more available. If you do decide to soak you can soak them in room temperature water overnight. Or, you can use a quick-soak method and cover them in boiling water for thirty minutes. Either way you will want to drain and rinse the cashews before using in this recipe.

This is delicious and super easy. My picky husband and toddler even love it. I especially love it because it’s healthy and simple to make.
I’m wondering if it would be good with plant-based milk instead of water though? I wonder if it wouldn’t give it a creamier consistency.

Thank you so much, Rachel! I'm so glad you all enjoyed it so much! Yes, I think plant-based milk would make it even creamier and give it more flavor. LMK if you try it! 🙂

Can you suggest a substitute for dates? Maple syrup, maybe?
Elaine Gordon says
Hi, Cheri! Yes, that could work! :). I haven't tested myself but I imagine it would. Please let me know. I hope you enjoy! Best, Elaine
