Strawberry Mint Lime Spritzers
It is summer and I'm so ready for these Strawberry Mint Lime Spritzers. I tested both virgin and alcoholic versions and both were delicious, so they’re great for just about any occasion. My kids love when I make these!
They are perfectly sweet, fruity, bubbly, light and delightfully refreshing! I sweetened them naturally with pure maple syrup so they don't contain any refined sugars or artificial ingredients. The flavors comes from real strawberries, fresh mint and fresh lime juice.
The cool herby mint paired with the tart fresh lime juice and naturally sweet strawberries is so refreshing, satisfying and delicious. Combined with some bubbles and ice cubes, it will have you feeling relaxed and mellow in no time.
Strawberry Selection and Storage
Strawberries are high in vitamin C and a great source of folate. I love them in this recipe because they bring a slight sweetness that isn’t overwhelming. To find the best strawberries, smell your package of strawberries before buying. If they smell sweet they will taste sweet. If they don’t, then find a new package. Sweet strawberries make a huge difference in this recipe.
You also want to look for shiny strawberries that are firm (not mushy) with a bright red color (not yellow or white). The caps should be fresh looking, green (not brown) and intact. You want to avoid shriveled or leaky berries.
Once you have found your perfect package, store them unwashed in the refrigerator for 1-3 days. I like to store an unbleached paper towel in the container to absorb any excess moisture. This helps keep them fresher longer. I also always store them in my crisper drawer of the refrigerator.
Once you are ready to eat or use you can wash them.

Description
This Strawberry Mint Lime Spritzer is the perfect summer mocktail or cocktail. It is refreshing, sweet, tart and fizzy - just what we all need in a summertime beverage. It is naturally sweetened with maple syrup to keep it refined sugar-free.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves, large stems removed
- 2 limes, juiced
- ¼ cup maple simple syrup*
- sparkling mineral water
- optional: add 1.5 ounces of your favorite liquor to each glass (vodka, tequila and rum would work well here)
- Garnish: fresh mint leaves, sliced strawberries, lime wedges
Instructions
- Add strawberries, mint, lime juice, and maple simple syrup to a blender and blend until smooth. Set a fine mesh strainer over a mixing bowl and add the purée, then press with a spoon to extract the juice. Continue pressing until all juice is extracted. Discard remaining pulp (or reserve for smoothies or popsicles).
- Once strained, use the liquid juice portion for the drinks. Add 2 tablespoons of the strained strawberry mixture to the bottom of each glass.
- Add the liquor if using. Fill the glasses with ice cubes. Top off with sparkling water until full. Gently stir to combine well.
- Garnish with more fresh mint leaves, sliced strawberries and lime wedges if desired. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
*Maple simple syrup is simply equal parts pure maple syrup and hot water mixed together to dissolve the maple syrup. You can make a large batch and save in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 1 week. For this recipe, you will only need ¼ cup if you are making two drinks. This means 2 tablespoons hot water + 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup. Mix together well before using.

Hi! I don’t see where it mentions the simple syrup step in the directions. Am I missing that? Looks so good!

Sorry that wasn't clear. It is listed in the note section of the recipe card above. I'll share it here for you: *Maple simple syrup is simply equal parts pure maple syrup and hot water mixed together to dissolve the maple syrup. You can make a large batch and save in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 1 week. For this recipe, you will only need 1/4 cup if you are making two drinks. I hope that helps. Please LMK if you have any questions.
