Blueberries and lemon are a flavor match made in summer heaven. The tartness of the fresh lemon juice perfectly complements the natural sweetness of the blueberries, and when blended together they create the most gorgeous violet hue. This isn't just ordinary lemonade - it feels special and elevated, yet it couldn't be easier to make!

All you need is a handful of ingredients: fresh blueberries, lemon juice, pure maple syrup, a pinch of salt, filtered water and ice. Just blend everything together and strain (optional, but recommended for the smoothest sip). Unlike some recipes that require simple syrup cooked on the stovetop, this version is as easy as throwing it all in the blender. Pour over a tall glass filled with ice and you've got the ultimate summer refreshment.
This recipe is naturally refined sugar-free, quick, easy and kid-friendly. It makes enough for two really big glasses or four smaller ones, but you can easily double or triple it if you're serving a crowd. I've found the perfect ratio of berries to lemon so it's just the right balance of tart and sweet, but you can always adjust to taste.
It's perfect for hot afternoons when the kids get home from playing outside or for hosting friends on the patio. And if you love the lemon-blueberry combo as much as I do, be sure to check out my lemon blueberry smoothie!

Ingredients

How to Make Blueberry Lemonade
1. Blend.

2. Strain.

3. Serve! Blending warms the drink slightly so I like to fill my glass to the top with ice to enjoy it extra cold.

Recipe Tips
- Salt is key. Just a pinch of salt brings all the flavors to life and helps your body absorb hydration better. It doesn't make the drink taste salty (trust me). Think of it as Nature's Gatorade but with fresh blueberries instead of frozen and water instead of coconut water.
- Adjust to taste. Feel free to add a bit more maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter, or extra lemon juice if you like it really tart.
- Turn leftovers into popsicles! Pour any extra lemonade into popsicle molds for a refreshing frozen treat. My kids go crazy over it!

Although best when fresh, you can make this drink in advance as well. Just be sure to fill it up to the top in an airtight container to minimize exposure to oxygen.
