This easy dairy-free Dole Whip recipe is the perfect tropical frozen treat to help cool you off on a hot and sunny day! It is quick and simple to make and requires only 3 ingredients. This recipe is vegan, paleo, gluten-free, nut-free and refined sugar-free.
Dairy-Free Dole Whip
This recipe is similar to the famous Dole Whip sold at Disney World (whipped pineapple soft serve) that everyone waits in insanely long lines for. It basically has celebrity status at Disney World and a cult-like following to boot!
Homemade Pineapple Soft Serve
My kids absolutely love this dessert and I love that this easy homemade version only requires three ingredients, Plus, it can be made in less than five minutes in your blender. No ice cream maker needed!
How to Make Homemade Dole Whip
To make homemade Dole Whip, you simply place solid white coconut cream (or almond or oat milk), frozen pineapple and a touch of maple syrup into a high-speed blender. Put on low speed and use the temper to press the frozen pineapple into the blades of the blender. It will be super thick which is what you want. You don't want to over-blend or it will be more like a smoothie and less like soft-serve. It just takes a little patience to keep pressing the tamper down until a creamy, smooth consistency is reached.
Then, to get the soft-serve look, I use a spatula to transfer the thick pineapple mixture to a large plastic bag. I seal the bag and then cut a slit in the side to pipe it through in a swirl like fashion. Fancy, right?
My three kids absolutely loved it and devoured it quickly. And it's not just for kids - adults can definitely get their pineapple soft serve on too! What's not to love? Sweet and tropical pineapple in soft-serve form.
This recipe is vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, refined sugar-free, soy-free, egg-free and dairy-free.

Vegan + Paleo Dole Whip (Pineapple Soft Serve)
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: 3 1x
- Diet: Vegan
Description
A quick and easy, homemade version of the famous Dole Whip found at Disney World. All you need is a blender and three ingredients! This recipe is refined sugar-free, vegan and gluten-free. It is the perfect tropical frosty treat for summertime!
Ingredients
- 1 pound frozen pineapple
- 1 can full fat coconut milk, chilled for 24 hours (only use the solid white coconut cream in this recipe and discard the coconut water or save it for another use such as coconut water ice cubes)
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a high speed blender. Place the top on and use the opening in the lid to insert the tamper. Turn the blender on to medium speed and use the tamper to repeatedly push the frozen pineapple down into the blade until a creamy smooth consistency is achieved. This may take a minute or two.
- You could then serve the Dole Whip as is. Or, if you want to achieve the soft-serve look, transfer the Dole Whip from the blender to a large plastic bag and seal it. Then, cut a small slit in one of the lower corners of the bag. Squeeze the bag into your serving bowls or cups using a swirl motion. Enjoy immediately.
Equipment
Notes
You can substitute ¼ cup unsweetened, plain oat milk or almond milk for the coconut cream but it will not be as creamy. It is still yummy and delicious this way though.

That looks amazing! I'm not sure if my blender could handle it, but there's only one way to find out!
Elaine Gordon says
Thank you so much! Yes, only one way! Just start on low speed and be sure to use the tamper. If your blender is having trouble wait for the frozen pineapple to thaw a bit more (maybe 5-10 minutes). You can always freeze it once blended... Also you could add some more liquid to get it going but then it won't be as thick and creamy.

I shockingly didn't have any cold coconut cream in my fridge so I just used the boxed coconut milk, 1/4 cup and it still came out fantastic.
Thank you for this super easy recipe.
