Forget the bright red store-bought fruit punches packed with artificial dyes, sweeteners and mystery ingredients. This homemade fruit punch is made entirely with real fruit (and even a veggie!) and can be customized to your taste: use a beet for earthy sweetness or go with tropical fruit for an island-inspired twist. Bursting with natural flavor, nutrients and vibrant color, it's a healthy, hydrating drink you can feel great about serving your family, especially on hot summer days or after physical activity.

There's something so nostalgic about fruit punch. As a kid, I remember it being a staple at birthday parties, summer barbecues and school celebrations. Always sweet, always festive, and always... completely artificial. Back then, I didn't think twice about what was in it. But now as a mom, I think about it anytime my kids ask for juice.
This fruit punch is packed with real fruits and vegetables, naturally sweet, and absolutely gorgeous thanks to the beet, which gives it that beautiful magenta color that kids (and adults!) can't resist.
Bonus: My kids love being involved in making it! They help pick the fruit, load the juicer or blender, and proudly pour it over ice for the whole family. It's a parenting win where everyone's happy, hydrated, and actually excited about fruits and veggies. And if your kids love colorful fruit recipes, be sure to check out this vibrant micro-chopped "Nature's Skittles" fruit salad they'll go crazy for.

Ingredients and Variations

The base recipe calls for just beet, lemon, oranges and apples, but you can add in other fruit for different variations and flavors. My favorites are pineapple (for more tropical flavor), cherries, grapes, strawberries and cranberries. You really can't go wrong!
How to Make Real Fruit Punch
There are two ways you can make this - with a blender or a juicer. I prefer juicing for two reasons: it's easier and it helps you get more nutrients from raw produce.

Juicing
Simply juice all the ingredients and serve over ice. I like to load the softer fruits (lemon and oranges) between the apples and beets to help push everything through efficiently.
Blending
1. Add all ingredients plus 2 cups of water to the blender and blend.

2. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag.

3. Serve chilled over ice and enjoy!

Pro Tip: Save the leftover pulp and use it in smoothies!

Make It a Hawaiian Punch
To turn this into a fun party punch, simply add sparkling water or lemon-lime soda for a fizzy finish. It's festive, refreshing and always a hit at gatherings.

Turn It into a Natural Electrolyte Drink
To upgrade this juice into a natural electrolyte drink (similar to Nature's Gatorade), add a cup of coconut water and a little bit of unrefined mineral salt (⅛ - ¼ tsp). These small additions make the drink even more hydrating without any artificial ingredients!

This juice is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Since it's unpasteurized, it's ideal to consume it shortly after making. To help preserve freshness, store it in a container that can be filled to the very top to minimize air exposure.
Hawaiian Punch variation: Swap the beet for 1 cup fresh pineapple (no core) and ½ cup strawberries.
Nature's Gatorade variation: Use unsweetened coconut water and add ⅛-1/4 teaspoon of unrefined mineral salt to each glass when serving.
Fruit Punch flavor variation: You can make this juice your own and experiment with other flavor variations. Add ½ cup fresh cherries, grapes or cranberries.
