Bright, zippy and packed with immune-boosting ingredients, this creamy ginger smoothie tastes like a tropical vacation in a glass. It's refreshing, slightly sweet and just the right amount of spicy (depending on how much ginger you add). If you love the benefits of ginger but not the burn of a straight ginger shot, this smoothie is going to be your new go-to!

I love ginger. I'm constantly trying to get more of it into my diet (and my kids!) because of all those immune-boosting benefits. If you've tried my 5-minute lemon ginger turmeric shots, you know ginger can be intense. A straight-up ginger shot is amazing, but not always the easiest way to enjoy your ginger daily.
This smoothie, though? It's a totally different ginger experience. Bright, zesty, creamy, and even kid-approved!
Ingredients

You get tropical vibes from the frozen mango and pineapple, which perfectly balance the tart lemon and spicy ginger. Mango makes it naturally sweet and irresistibly creamy, while pineapple brings a juicy sweet-tart flavor. We're using the juice of two full lemons here for that big, bold, zesty pop. It helps mask the ginger a bit and keeps things super refreshing.
And no dates or added sugar required! The fruit gives plenty of sweetness. Plus, no ice is needed either since the frozen fruit keeps it icy-cold and thick. A cup of creamy almond milk blends everything into a smooth, dreamy texture.

Recipe Tip
- Boost the nutrition! This smoothie is not meant to be a full meal, but you can bulk it up by adding chia seeds or hemp seeds. But if you're prepping the smoothie ahead, don't add the chia seeds until serving as they'll thicken and definitely change the texture
- Don't add protein powder. This is definitely not the recipe for that as depending on your protein powder it can mess with the flavor.
- Make it green. Add a handful of spinach or even a bit of creamy avocado!
I think of it as the perfect "I think I'm getting sick" smoothie, but I also love it as just a fun afternoon refresher. The ginger level is totally customizable: I use ½-inch for the kids or up to 2 inches when I want that spicy immune-boosting kick.
This smoothie give me major tropical lemonade vibes, kind of like my pineapple lemonade with ginger and turmeric, but much thicker and creamier thanks to the frozen fruit.

And if you're on a ginger kick like me, definitely read up on how to make ginger juice. All you need is ginger root and water!
