Easy Frozen Spinach

Frozen Spinach Cubes for Green Smoothies

  • Author: Elaine Gordon
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 12 small spinach cubes (16 ounces) 1x
  • Diet: Vegan

You only need spinach, water, and your blender to prep these nutrient-packed cubes of Frozen Spinach for Smoothies!

Units Scale
  • 5 ounces fresh spinach
  • 3/4 cup filtered water (or coconut water)

  1. Add spinach and water to a high speed blender.  Blend until perfectly smooth and no spinach bits remain.  Pour directly into an ice cube tray.
  2. Place the ice cube tray in your freezer until spinach cubes are frozen solid (about 4 hours).
  3. Use 2-3 cubes per smoothie.  I love to combine with almond milk, frozen pineapple, frozen mango and chia seeds.  Click here to view all my favorite smoothie recipes.
